Graded 60 EX 5 by the professionals at SGC, the presented card of the spectacular Willie Mays hails from the high-number series of the 1953 Topps issue, one of the most coveted and visually appealing pasteboard releases of all time. This example shows minor evidence of handling along the fragile red top reverse border along with overall EX/MT or better corners and a slight bit of chipping in the black obverse name plate, entirely appropriate for the grade. Centering is prone to the southwest, but is not overwhelmingly noticeable and overall visual appeal remains strong.
