Here he is, the man who broke the color barrier in the Major Leagues, Jack Roosevelt Robinson himself. The first card in the 1953 Topps set was dedicated to Jackie, and aside from Mickey Mantle and Satchel Paige, he is the most frequently-submitted player from the issue. This example bears the grade of EX 5 as determined by PSA, yet still presents with strong visual appeal due to the bold colors and lustrous gloss. This one exhibits some wear to the corners, primarily the reverse of the top two, but standards for the given grade are easily met. A nice example of an iconic #1 card from a vastly popular set.
