The scarce E105 Mello-Mint Gum issue shares the same checklist and artwork as the more common E101 set but measures slightly smaller and was printed on a noticeably thinner stock, making it exceptionally uncommon to encounter examples in top grades. Offered is an extremely scarce PSA 2 GOOD specimen of Hall of Famer Nap Lajoie, one of only 7 graded specimens on record at PSA. The obvious centering bias, very common for the issue, is compensated with strong corners that, while rounded and worn, appear better than the PSA 2 label suggests. However, the most appealing quality of this masterpiece is its extraordinary color, with clean orange shades and bold green pigment. The Mello-Mint ad on the reverse, finally, is powerfully impressed and nicely centered. An extremely rare specimen, highly recommended!
