Rarely offered in any condition, presented is a 1919 T213 Coupon Cigarettes example of Ty Cobb's familiar red-backed portrait, graded SGC 30 GOOD 2. Nearly identical to Cobb's much more common T206 issue, the only major differences between the two can be observed in the blue font used in the player identification line as well as in the back advertisement. Distribution of the T213 set was limited exclusively to the Louisiana area and is so scarce that the checklist remains incomplete to this day! Offered is a presentable specimen that exhibits uniform VG corners that help to counterbalance multiple creases throughout the surface that become apparent on an angle but are difficult to see when looking head-on. The reverse shows very little toning, uncommon for the issue. A terrific opportunity to acquire one of the single most elusive Cobb issues in the hobby!
