Graded MINT 96(9) by SGC. The featured collectible is one of just 5 copies on record with SGC that has been graded MINT 9 out of the nearly 600 examples of this card that have been graded. Mantle appeared on the featured card after his retirement in Spring training of the 1969 season and may have been one of the first athletes Topps featured on a card after the retirement (it surely couldn't have hurt sales) A truly stunning card that appears as a beacon of what all MINT cards should look like. Four exceptionally sharp needle like points blend into straight even clean edges that contain a miraculous image of the famed slugger. The surface is ablaze underneath a attention commanding layer of fine gloss while the reverse is a chip free salmon colored pink that provides a perfect rendition of the "Commerce Comets" final statistics!
