Sometimes referred to as the Goudey “Heads-Up” set, the 1938 release featured an actual photograph of the player’s head superimposed on a cartoon-like body. The presented example of card #280, Vernon Kennedy, has been recently graded NM 7 by PSA and offers the same image found on card #256, but with small drawings and monologues in the background. This example shows adequate centering and corners for the grade with some light but uniform toning along the borders.
