Simply outstanding! Most everyone reading this has a MINT 9 card in their collections. And while you look at the front of the card, you know its nice, but the eyes always wander to the one area where a small defect exists. It may be slight off centering, a small print dot or an area where the color or gloss isn't up to snuff. Your eyes will absolutely love this card! Like a man who is happily married, there will be no wandering eye. Pure white borders surround a deep, bold picture of a smiling Mantle. The clarity of Mantle's portrait is crystal clear, as is the action photo of Mick's home run saving catch. Four sharp corners reveal nary a hint of wear, and all four edges have that amazing light natural cut, affording the new owner an added sense of contentment. The reverse is slightly off center with a natural paper mark along the right edge. Besides the 1952 issue, this card is Mantle most popular card as it coincides with his greatest year on the field. While Mantle had two pretty good seasons up to this point, the 1956 season solidified all the hype around the Commerce Comet. Mantle won the first of his two consecutive MVP awards with his Triple Crown performance of .356 average, 52 home runs and 130 RBI's. This is one of 7 1956 Mantle's graded SGC MINT 96, with none higher! This card is also of Triple Crown quality with all the attributes of a MINT card.
