Graded VG/EX 4 by PSA. The offered cardboard relic is without question one of the most symbolic and inspiring issues that the tragic hero, Joe Jackson ever appeared on. A 1914 Cracker Jack card of the fallen star stands at the very front of the line in regards to pasteboard prestige, with its bright boldly red colored background that seemingly surrounds the great batsman of the day almost as if to protect him from the outside influences of his future. The exceptionally thin stock of the more difficult 1914 Cracker Jack issue shows a crease free surface with three moderately yet even worn corners with the lower left corner being more pronounced in its appearance. The contrast and definition of the subject is keen with a vividly hued pronouncement of "Shoeless Joe" seemingly starring down onlookers after finishing one of his powerful right handed swings. The palate of this pasteboard is spotted with a near badge of caramel spotting along its fragile landscape assuring the enthusiast of its un-tampered state. As well the reverse enjoys an abundance of the reassuring continuance of the caramel confection while the deeply black inked bio appears in harmony with its surrounding. This is a 1914 Cracker Jack card of the immortal Shoeless Joe Jackson to be cherished and admired, offered in a pleasing VG/EX condition.
