The Splendid Splinter, Ted Williams, is the key card to one of the most popular regional food issues from the 1950's. The Wilson Franks set is ripe with major faults including severe off centering due to the very thin borders, and less than stellar image quality. While the assigned grade is SGC 70 EX+, this example of Williams' card, is one of the most eye appealing examples. The centering, both front and back, are perfect, an extreme rarity. Even many of the graded NM-MT 8 examples in collections are off center. The four corners are square, but each exhibits light corner touches, with the lower right corner revealing slightly more wear. The pure white obverse is print free, with no specs of those pesky black dots that usually adhere to this issue. A great card, graded at EX+ 70, but presents so much better. A great opportunity to obtain this desirable card in a very nice grade, a card which would highlight your 1954 Wilson graded set.
