Tendered in this lot is the highest-graded example of Russ Kemmerer’s 1959 Topps card, 1 of just 13 to bear the MINT 9 status with no 10s on record. This one had to have been a candidate for the first GEM MINT, with impeccable centering, smooth white print-free borders and pack-fresh corners. Perhaps the few speck-like print dots near Russ’ chin prevented a higher assessment. Regardless, this is as nice of a PSA 9 as you’ll ever see.
