This 1932 World Series scorecard was sold at Wrigley Field, with an original cost of 25 cents. This scorecard appears to be from the famous Game 3, when Babe Ruth's "Called Shot." In the fifth inning of Game 3, Ruth, who was being bench jockeyed all game by the Chicago Cubs bench, called his home run with two strikes while pointing to the center field bleachers. He then proceeded to hit the next pitch right where he pointed. While the program is unscored we believe the program is from Ruth's called shot game as the phrase "Game 3" is written in pencil along the top of the actual scoring page. The phrase is written in old fashioned lettering, and while their is no guarantee that this program came from this game, the Yankees swept the Cubs in four straight games. Only Games 3 and 4 were played at Wrigley Field. This scorecard measures approximately 6" x 8.5" and grades as Good. There are several vertical creases running the length of the program, similar to if a fan rolled or folded up the program and put it in his coat pocket. Both covers have these creases as do most of the pages. But the page with Ruth and Gehrig's picture (along with Joe McCarthy) do not have creases, but when running a finger along the page, you can feel where the program was folded. There also appears to be staining along the tops of the pages, indicating water came in contact with the program at some point. A truly historical piece very likely from one of the most famous World Series game ever played, with Babe Ruth being Master of Ceremonies.
