An utterly fantastic 8" x 10" team photo of the (finally!) 1955 World Champion Brooklyn Dodgers. While the issue is not known, the photo depicts all the great members of that much admired team. Roy Campanella, Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Gil Hodges, Duke Snider, Johnny Podres, Clem Labine, Carl Erskine, Don Newcombe, and even rookie Sandy Koufax is in the photo. The photo has amazing clarity and contrast, even with the early morning sunshine peeking through the open spaces of Ebbett's Field. A few normal crazing areas are present, and along the left side appears to be a paper clip mark. This mark could mostly be matted out upon proper display. This team rectified over 50 years of "Wait till Next Year!" Great plays and games abounded in the World Series that year, from Sandy Amoros' (first row, second from right) great 6th inning Game 7 catch off the bat of Yogi Berra to Johnny Podres' (back row, third from right) electrifying 2-0 Game 7 shutout. Up until the 1955 season, a total of seven times the Brooklyn baseball franchise made the World Series, only to lose all seven times, the last five to the hated Yankees.
