In what may be an interesting side note the two greatest power hitters of their generation Babe Ruth and Jimmy Foxx both were pitchers at some point during their ML careers. Ruth broke in as a rookie with the Red Sox and what most people don't know, Foxx finished his career pitching for the Phillies in 1945 compiling a surprising 1-0 record with a startling 1.59 ERA in nine appearances. The offered card hails from one of "The Beast's" greatest years as he smashed 50 HR, with 175 RBIs and batted .349 for the 1938 Red Sox. Exceptionally well centered with a bright patina and respectable NM/MT corners. A stellar card for those enthusiasts either working on this eclectic issue or collecting Hall Of Fame pasteboard!
