Every so often, an athlete comes along whose uncanny abilities change the way the game is played. Vikings QB Fran Tarkenton made defenses adjust to a quarterback that can use his legs as well as his arm, 49ers running back Roger Craig proved that a runner can also be a deadly receiver, and the Denver Broncos Shannon Sharpe revolutionized his position, proving that tight ends can be more than just an extra blocker. With over 800 receptions, 10,000 receiving yards, and eight Pro-Bowl appearances, Shannon Sharpe was the all-time leader for tight ends in both categories when he retired in 2003, and to this day, it remains a gross injustice that he is not enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Presented is a game-used and autographed jersey of tight end Shannon Sharpe, worn during the 1998 Denver Broncos season. Appropriate NFL Pro Line tagging appears on the front left tail, with team tagged "98-50" year-size swatch stitched into the back collar. Sharpe's signature appears on the reverse in gold sharpie. Jersey exhibits light to moderate game use. LOA from Mile High Card Co.
