Besides the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card, this 1953 Bowman card could be the most popular Mantle issue. The unobtrusive photo of a young Mantle with his muscular follow through is a tremendous contrast to the purplish-blue early evening Yankee Stadium sky. One of the most recognized ball cards of the 50's, the 1953 Bowman Mantle is a necessity for any high caliber collection. For your availability is this PSA MINT 9 issue that has four sharp corners and superb edges around a nicely registered image. The centering favors slightly to the south and west but is barely noticeable, and mentioned for the sake of accuracy. The obverse is blemish-free and exhibits a clear sheen of shiny gloss, while the reverse is blemish free with bold black and red print.
