This supreme specimen is highlighted by dazzling white borders surrounding a detailed and colorful image of the man named by The Sporting News in 2002 as the greatest football player ever. Centering favors the west in a marginal fashion, perfectly acceptable for the issue, but falls well within the standards for the grade. Often regarded as the gridiron compatriot to the ’52 Mantle, this iconic pasteboard is absolutely deserving of a home in even the most advanced collections.
