Under a gleaming layer of pack-fresh gloss is the image of a concerned Bob Feller, trying to regain his legendary form after a disappointing 9-13 season in 1952. The hard work would pay off for "Rapid Robert," as he would post a combined 23-10 record over the next two seasons. Issued among the exceptionally scarce high-number series from the 1953 Bowman Color set comes this truly stunning PSA 8 NM/MT masterpiece. Aptly centered with a mild preference for the bottom edge, this exquisite specimen exhibits a barrage of color so intense that it's easy to overlook the sturdy white border and NM/MT corners, while the reverse boasts well-printed black lettering that smartly contrasts with the toned cardboard background. A faint line of print on the obverse is the only discernable flaw, and barely noticeable at that. Am impressive, high-grade example of one of the most popular sets ever produced!
