George Shuba's 1952 Topps high-number rookie, in case you didn't know it, is the fourth highest-valued 1952 Topps high-number in existence, behind the famous Mantle and Mathews issues, obviously, and sandwiched, at least in terms of SMR value, between Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella. The thing is, none of these other more famous '52 Topps high-numbers, save maybe the Mathews rookie, is nearly as rare as the Shuba rookie. This one features a little too much wear at the corners and a less than NM/MT fleck in the upper left field to make NM/MT 8 overall, but it is without question a high-end NM 7, and anything graded higher would likely cost ten to twenty times as much.
