Rarely offered anywhere in the sports memorabilia world, this is a vintage game-used jersey of Philadelphia Eagles halfback Ernie Steele, which dates back to the NFL Championship seasons of 1948 and 1949. Having seen many seasons of "smash-mouth football" use, this jersey shows tremendous wear, including extensive patchwork and re-stitching. In fact, according to authenticator Lou Lampson, this jersey has "the most team repairs we've ever seen on a jersey from this era."
