Up for grabs is a vibrant NM/MT example of one of the famous twenty Hall of Famers to appear in the 1934 Goudey issue, the Gashouse Gang's own Frankie Frisch, whose success with the Cardinals in the 1930s followed an equally impressive tenure with the New York Giants in the 1920s, where he served as team captain until John McGraw famously berated him after missing a sign, ultimately ending their close relationship and sending "The Fordham Flash" off to St. Louis, where he'd eventually take over as player-manager, winning another two World Series as well as the 1931 MVP. The presented jewel from the 1934 Goudey issue boasts MINT edges between NM/MT+ corners around a bold NM/MT image that shows some age toning along the right edge and a self-evident centering bias for the south. Surprisingly, only one example (a NM/MT+ 8.5) has ever graded higher!
