There is virtually no equal in the history of the NHL to Mike Bossy. The only player ever to surpass 50 goals in each of his first nine seasons, topping the 60-goal mark five times, Bossy and his New York Islanders would create a hockey dynasty, capturing four consecutive Stanley Cup Championships and cementing his place in the NHL Hall of Fame. Presented is an extremely rare Mike Bossy jersey used during the 1981 Canada Cup, where he led all players with eight goals and was named to the tournament All-Star team. It's likely that this jersey was worn during one of the exhibitions leading up to tournament play, as veteran Steve Shutt also wore #22 and had seniority over Bossy, who was forced to wear the presented #2 sweater. After Shutt decided not to play in the tournament, Bossy was given #22 to start tournament play. Amazingly adorned with screen printed numbers, letters, and a breathtaking maple leaf logo, with a tremendous red sharpie signature of Bossy proudly displayed above "Canada" on the front. LOA from Rich Ellis, JSA, Mile High Card Co.
