The featured 1955 Topps example of Sandy Koufax's iconic rookie card has very recently been graded NM/MT 8 by the cardboard authorities at PSA, but it features one of the deepest and richest print jobs you'll ever encounter on the issue, particularly in the green and red areas of the nameplate and Dodgers logo, respectively, as well as in the black highlights throughout the obverse, and especially in the outrageously bold skin tones of Sandy's headshot. So overabundant is the color on this high-end PSA 8, in fact, that some extraneous ink has made a home in the upper background field, an extremely common feature found on almost all 1955 Topps cards, but particularly those with yellow backgrounds. Excepting this characteristic NM/MT feature, every other scrutable facet of the card appears to be in at least NM/MT+ condition, if not MINT. Accurately centered with just a marginal NM/MT+ to MINT preference for the bottom and left edges, with sensational MINT to GEM MINT edges between stalwart MINT corners at all points but the top left, which shows a few microscopic fibers folded back from the front of its very tip. The reverse mirrors the front in its impressive print job and shows virtually no faults whatsoever other than a slightly more advance inclination for the bottom border. All in all, if you've always wanted a top notch Koufax rookie, and you're tolerant of a little print dust, this is absolutely one of the finest examples you'll ever encounter in the NM/MT range. Please consult our super-sized images online and see for yourself how truly scintillating this superior Sandy appears under close scrutiny.
