Hoops forefather and Hall of Fame center Clyde Lovellette graces the elegant surface of this surprisingly high-end example of his 1957 Topps rookie card, recently, and somewhat conservatively, graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. Twice All-State in Indiana, three times All-American at Kansas, Gold Medal winner at the '52 Helinski games, and two-time NBA champ with the Celtics, Clyde was the game's first player to win championships at the college, pro, and Olympic levels. With just 14 like it and only a single unqualified example grading higher, this one unquestionably pushes the limits of the NM/MT grade for consideration as one of the hobby's finest known examples. NM/MT top corners and NM/MT+ bottom points join NM/MT+ edges around an impossibly snow-free and glossy NM/MT+ to MINT image that gently favors the east.
