A backup quarterback to Brian Griese for two seasons at the University of Michigan, Tom Brady was lightly regarded when he was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 6th round, the 199th overall pick, of the 2000 NFL Draft. After one season of holding a clipboard and watching Drew Bledsoe, John Friesz, and Michael Bishop lead the Patriots to a dead-last 5-11 record, Brady had worked his way up to number two on the depth chart to begin the 2001 season, and was thrust into the starter’s role when Drew Bledsoe was sacked by the New York Jets’ Mo Lewis, resulting in internal bleeding that ended Bledsoe’s season. Brady went 11-3 as a starter in 2001, led the Patriots to a Super Bowl victory over the St. Louis Rams, and was named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXXVI. Drew Bledsoe was traded to the Buffalo Bills in the offseason. In Brady’s 10-season NFL career, he has an 87-24 record, including a perfect 16-0 season in 2007, and three Super Bowl Championships.

Offered is a game-used Patriots jersey, worn by quarterback Tom Brady during the 2004 season, when the Patriots defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX. The jersey is properly tagged with Reebok “NFL Equipment” label and black “48” flag stitched onto the front left tail, and team tagged “04-48” white swatch stitched into the back collar. All numerals, Patriots insignia, and “BRADY” nameplate are tackle twill stitched. LOA from Mile High Card Co.
