Having already established himself as one of the premier defensemen in NHL history, Ray Bourque had accomplished virtually every milestone … except a Stanley Cup Championship. At age 39 and in his 21st NHL season, Bourque was granted a trade to the Colorado Avalanche for the playoff run. Eliminated by Dallas in the Conference finals, Bourque returned for one last season, and the #4 All-time assist leader didn’t miss a beat, tallying 52 assists, and flanked by high-scoring centers Joe Sakic and Peter Forsberg, helped lead Colorado to a league best 51-16-10 record. After knocking off Vancouver, Los Angeles, and St. Louis, the Avalanche defeated the New Jersey Devils in seven games, and Bourque finally captured the Championship that had eluded him in Boston.

Presented is a game-used and autographed Colorado Avalanche jersey, worn by Hall of Famer Ray Bourque during the 1999-2000 season, when he first arrived in Colorado, and worn during games three and four of the Av’s Conference Quarterfinals series against Phoenix. Inside the back collar is the appropriate Pro Player Authentic label and size 56 flag, with “NHL 2000” patch sewn on the right shoulder. Bourque’s signature appears on the first “7” on the reverse, and the jersey exhibits nice game use, with scuff marks most noticeable on the white numerals. LOA from MeiGrayGroup, Mile High Card Co.
