Take a close look at this high-end example of the infamous #1 card from the notoriously challenging 1971 Topps set. Brand new to the hobby and recently graded NM/MT+ 8.5, with only 4 competitors in its class and just 4 superiors in the MINT 9 tier, and that's it. A borderline MINT blazer, only the bottom left corner and top edge need really be improved for higher consideration, though we strongly feel it may be the hobby's single finest example, just as it is. Incredibly clean for the issue with a borderline MINT perimeter around a nicely centered and surprisingly sharp image. Every 1971 set deserves a #1 copy this nice, but not every collector can afford one. Technically rating among the finest 9 copies in the hobby, and unquestionably among the finest 5!
