Baseball has seen its share of legendary pitchers, from Cy Young and Walter Johnson in the early 20th century, to more modern day hurlers Tom Seaver, Steve Carlton, and Nolan Ryan. And while many future Hall of Fame pitchers have graced the diamond over the past 25 years, not one has had a more dominant career than the “Mad Dog”, Greg Maddux.

While not an overpowering hurler, Maddux was known for his pinpoint accuracy, averaging less than two walks per nine innings in his career and leading the National League in that category nine times. A two-time 20-game winner, Maddux reached the 19-win mark on five other occasions, including a 19-2 season in which he posted a phenomenal 1.63 ERA, his second consecutive sub 2.00 season. In all, Maddux won 335 games (8th All-time), led the National League in ERA four times, won four consecutive Cy Young Awards and 18 Gold Glove awards.

Presented is a game-used and autographed Braves home jersey of future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux, worn during the 2002 season in Atlanta. The proper Russell Athletic label and “100% polyester 46” flag is stitched onto the front left tail, with all identifiers tackle twill stitched and Braves logo two-color tackle twill stitched onto the jersey. Signed by Maddux in black sharpie on the red “3” on the back. Nice game use, with various stains and dirt marks. LOA from Lou Lampson, PSA/DNA, Mile High Card Co.
