Hall of Famer Dave Winfield is one of only two athletes to be drafted by three professional sports: The San Diego Padres, the Minnesota Vikings, the Atlanta Hawks (NBA) and the Utah Stars (ABA). Obviously, he chose professional baseball, and became the game’s highest paid player in 1981 when he signed with the Yankees. The presented Dave Winfield Professional Model bat has been thoroughly examined by the PSA/DNA authentication experts and has been determined to match the model number, length and weight preferred by Winfield and ordered by the Yankees slugger during the referenced labeling period. The barrel exhibits several ball and stitch marks, the uncracked handle bears a light coating of pine tar, and the knob has been stamped with the year (1984), model number and order number. Based on these factors, a grade of GU 8 has been assigned Vince Malta and John Taube at PSA/DNA.
