1964 was the only season from 1963 to the premature end of Sandy Koufax's career in 1966 that the dominant southpaw didn't win the the NL Cy Young award. Apparently, his league leading 1.74 ERA and MLB leading .792 winning percentage just weren't enough to compete with Larry Jackson's 24 wins and California rival Dean Chance's 1.65 ERA and 11 shutouts. Offered here is a shimmering PSA MINT 9 example of Sandy's intimate Topps issue from that sub-par season of 1964. A mildly rough but still MINT perimeter enshrines a superior image of the LA superstar that still appears wet with factory fresh ink and gloss.
