Issued just before his death in 1995, the presented group of three die-cast Mickey Mantle precious metal baseball cards were produced by the Highland Mint and distributed by Pinnacle, each with its own plastic storage folder and certificate of authenticity, not pictured. Each card is identical in design and is a reproduction of card #7, "The Rookie," from the popular 1992 Pinnacle Mickey Mantle tribute boxed set. There is a bronze version, numbered 381 out of 5,000, a silver version, numbered 381 out of 1,000, and a gold version, numbered 381 out of just 500 made. The gold and silver versions each contain 4.25 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, only the gold version is plated in 24-karat gold. Wow! That's over half a pound of pure silver in this lot!
