NJ native Gary Cuozzo played 10 seasons in the NFL, first as Johnny Unitas' back-up with the Colts, then as the first starting quarterback in New Orleans Saints history, then to the Vikings for four years before his last season with the Cardinals in 1972. Offered here is a heavyweight cheesecloth jersey used by Cuozzo to stay warm on the coldest days at the Met. Numbers on front and back and both sleeves are screened in classic Sand-Knit Vikings-styled font, with traditional yellow and white striped sleeves. "CUOZZO" is stitched on back in white tackle twill, with two characteristically straight-stitched Sand-Knit tags on lower left front tail. Very light QB use, with LOAs from Lou Lampson and Mile High Card Co.
