Unsurpassed in its NM/MT 8 class at PSA, offered is one of the hobby's very finest 1933 Goudey examples of the Associated Press's 1931 Male Athlete of the Year, the Gashouse Gang's very own Pepper Martin, who still commands the third highest career World Series batting average at .418. Strong NM/MT+ to MINT edges frame an accurately centered and perfectly registered obverse boasting a statuesque image of the "Wild Horse of the Osage" of the very finest caliber. A shoe-in for higher consideration were it not for a subtle print mark in the extreme upper right field and what resembles a faint roller line alongside the right border.
