Here is a profoundly well-saturated example of Ty Cobb's coveted T206 "Red Portrait" variation that presents exponentially better than is suggested by the harsh EX 5 assessment from the pre-war specialists at SGC. Perfectly centered on the front with a shimmering NM/MT+ obverse highlighted by a spectacular image of the blue-eyed wonder boy from Georgia against a near perfectly saturated wall of bold crimson ink. An EX top left corner appears to be the only single facet restraining this otherwise EX/MT to NM stunner from realizing a higher grade, as the remaining corners rate at least EX/MT and the edges NM/MT to NM/MT+. A very impressive example, even had it been evaluated a full numerical grade above its current conservative assessment of EX 5.
