One of just 3 examples graded PSA 8.5 NM/MT+, offered is an incredibly impressive copy of the famous 1959 Fleer Ted Williams "Ted Signs for 1959" issue. Early in production, Fleer withdrew the offered card from this fan-favorite set because the man pictured alongside Williams, Red Sox GM Bucky Harris, was under contract with Topps. If they weren't lucky enough to pull one of the few examples that made it into distribution, collectors were forced to write to Fleer to request the card in order to complete their sets. As a consequence, relatively few exist in today's market, and even fewer have survived in top grades. The presented trophy boasts an utterly immaculate image of Teddy signing his famous $125,000 contract, supported by strong MINT edges between NM/MT+ edges, only the top two of which show any qualities not consistent with higher consideration; the very tip of the top right shows a few stray fibers, and the top left shows a touch of wear on back. A towering example in its grade, bordering on MINT and boasting various GEM qualities.
