Another immensely presentable key Hall of Fame issue from the monumental T206 issue, offered is a stunning specimen of Christy Mathewson's fiery "Portrait" variation that has recently been deemed EX/MT 6 by PSA but presents an overabundance of significantly higher-grade qualities, primarily in the impression of the immaculate obverse image, which flaunts pixel-perfect registration, even in the color application of Matty's red lips and blue eyes. Moderate flesh tones dominate the remainder of the "Christian Gentleman's" countenance, producing a vibrant likeness with depth and detail rarely encountered on the issue. Even specimens in the NM to NM/MT range will often show slightly fuzzy details, due to common registration issues, as well as a generally washed-out overall appearance, due to fading and/or weak color saturation. The prominence of the color saturation featured on the offered example can be evidenced in the perfectly thorough golden yellow backdrop at top, accented by the famously fiery orange-red color around Christy's head and shoulders. Uniform EX/MT corners join NM edges and a NM centering preference for the top border to account for the professionally opined grade of EX/MT 6 from PSA.
