Just as the United States was about to enter World War II, the Tydol Gasoline/Veedol Motor Oil Company issued a 40-card set in two series, one in 1941 under the name Tydol, which was integrated sequentially with an earlier 1940 issue designated R112-3 Card-O. The cards carry colorful artist renderings of the various war planes used by ally and axis powers, with descriptions and specifications of the planes on the reverse. In all, 39 of the 40 cards comprising the set are offered (card #26 is missing), with 21 graded by PSA. Each of the 12 Tydol graded cards is the only one ever graded by PSA. PSA grades are: 2 PSA 9, one PSA 8.5, 16 PSA 8, one PSA 7.5 and one PSA 5.5.
