A spiritual man, Jim Bottomley was never too far from his personal copy of the bible, a miniaturized book of the New Testament that would be easy to travel with on road trips. On a page inside, Bottomley has written "From an old baseball player" and signed it "Jas. Bottomley Sept. 15 -- Phidelphia (sic), PA St. Louis Cardinal." One of the most personal objects ever owned by Sunny Jim, bearing his signature and inscription from the very start of his great career. LOA from JSA.
