Honus Wagner Signed and Cancelled Bank Check Dated January 4, 1919

Drawn from his hometown Carnegie National Bank barely a year after his retirement, Honus Wagner paid his phone bill like the rest of us ordinary people, a hefty sum of $4.25 (about $62 in today's dollars). Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania was the recipient of this check, completely written in the hand of Wagner with his customary John H Wagner on the payer line. Measures 16 1/2" x 14" in frame.
