Within hobby circles a credible argument has been maintained that the Lincoln Publishing postcards of 1906 were never actually marketed but rather absorbed into the hobby by in fact "leaking" out the backdoor of the initial printer. Those very few known to exist nearly always bear a period handwritten notation identifying the player positions, which obviously, is not very conducive to commercial distribution. In the case of the offered group of 12 examples that "myth" is hereby silenced as each one of these are void of the penned monikers. Everyone of these elusive and ornately designed postcards has been addressed by the knowledgeable crew at PSA and graded PSA 1 FR. While the overall appearance of the group seems far superior to the low assessment it should be noted that each of the cards has a small pinhole at the top portion of the card combining with the absence of the written position suggesting the possibility of the offered group having been displayed and admired by a rabid young fan of men of Mack who won the American League in 1905, 1906 and 1907! Contained within the group and offered here are the following: Connie Mack (HOF), Eddie Plank (HOF), Chief Myers, Dygert, Hendley, Knight, Seybold, Coakley, Cross, Davis, Schreckengost, and Hoffman. A tremendous offering that will set any enthusiast on his way to collecting this exceptional scarce issue.
