On October 13, 2001, Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter secured his place in the annals of baseball history with an unbelievable backhanded flip to catcher Jorge Posada to set up a tag of Oakland A's runner Jeremy Giambi at the plate. It was the seventh inning of Game 3 of the ALDS, the Yankees were down 2 games to none in the series and facing elimination, when Jeter appeared out of nowhere to scoop up a throw from right field that had missed both cutoff men and was dribbling down the first base line, and somehow had the athleticism and body control to flip the ball to Posada for the out. The play was captured in this stunning 16 x 20 color photograph, and Jeter has signed the photo in bold, blue fiber tip marker. The signature is approximately 5" long and is without question a "9-10" in terms of strength. The piece is numbered 1/500 and comes with a COA from Steiner Sports, assuring its authenticity. An intriguing and highly desirable item worthy of inclusion in any Yankee collection.
