Offered is a stunning photo of two of the greatest players that the game of Baseball has ever known: Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. The featured photo is the immensely popular image of Ruth and Gehrig in their “Bustin Babes” and “Larrupin Lou’s” uniforms from their 1927 barnstorming tour that has been signed by Lou Gerig and displays wonderfully. Gehrig has addressed the image in the upper right portion of the photo reading, “To my little pal Mickey with kindest personal regards, Cordially, Lou Gehrig.” It appears as though someone other than Gehrig has added Arthur under the name Mickey which is mentioned obviously for accuracy but doesn’t interfere nor detract from the great look of the Gehrig script. The condition of the item is strong overall with the lower right corner missing which could obviously be framed out as well the other three corners display tape on the reverse from having been mounted at one time. An intoxicating image displaying a wonderful signature of the “Iron Horse” Lou Gehrig and ready for inclusion in even the finest of holdings!
