The SP Authentic brand has been one of the leaders in the world of basketball cards and the combining of this trio goes far beyond their superior prowess on the court. Clearly, each is an icon that powered their respective teams to perennial champion runs for the entirety of their careers, with Jordan winning 6 rings in Chicago, and Kobe and Magic capturing five each in separate stints with the Lakers, but each also experienced some degree of tragedy in addition to triumph; Kobe with his untimely passing in a helicopter crash, Jordan in his early retirement in an unsuccessful attempt to fulfill his late father's dream of becoming a major-league baseball player, and Magic as the first sports star to go public about his HIV-positive status.
