The newest member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Derek Jeter is the latest of a long line of legends that made the New York Yankees the most storied American sports team in history.
Though he was never the home-run masher as the Yankee legends that came before him, his consistent play and hitting prowess made him the first Yankee to join the 3,000 hit club, ending his career #6 on the all-time list with 3,465 base-knocks. A GEM MINT example of his 1993 SP Foil card like the one we have in this auction is out of reach for most collectors, but here's a pretty great consolation prize, if you can call it that because it's really very close to GEM MINT status in its own right; a PSA 9 MINT graded example of arguably the most important pasteboard of the decade. Virtually perfect in every respect, foil cards like these can come up one grade short of perfection for any myriad of reasons, looking practically the same as a GEM MINT example at a small fraction of the price. This is a real value pick and wow that he's joined the other greats in Cooperstown, there's a good chance that an investment here is well worth it.
