There are precious few hitters in major league baseball history that have laid lumber to cowhide more successfully that San Diego Padres outfielder Tony Gwynn. A career .338 hitter, which ranks 2nd only to Ted Williams in the post-war era, Gwynn has captured eight National League batting titles, surpassing the .300 mark for 19 consecutive seasons! Presented are some wonderful game-used items from Tony Gwynn's remarkable career. First off is Gwynn's San Diego Padres hat, a size 7 1/8 cap with the MLB Authentic and New Era labels inside and black marker "19" written on the bill. Next up is Gwynn's uniform pants. Inside the waistband is a Russell Athletic size 39 label with additional team stitched "19 39-41-30-98" label. Written on the label is the date of use, 9-3-99 vs. FLA" and the numbers 3030 and 3031 to represent how many career hits he had to that point.
