If you go to enough card shows, you're bound to run into a dealer offering unopened packs of 1986-87 Fleer basketball cards. Inevitably, some daring patron will plunk down a large sum of money and take their chances, hoping to score a GEM MINT worthy Jordan rookie card. Even if MJ's pasteboard didn't appear, the Jordan sticker along with several other pricey rookie cards can still turn the pack into a tidy windfall. Presented here is a full 36-count wax box of 1986-1987 Fleer basketball cards, an offering that has not surfaced in quite some time anywhere in the hobby. According to expert Steve Hart, the checklist of stickers that are visible through the wax does not match that of a factory shipped box, but also adds that all 36 packs are 100% genuine and original. At first thought, one might conclude that the box was "searched" for Jordan rookie cards using known sequential indicators, however those indicators would suggest that there are Jordans in the box, so this more likely scenario is that this was an almost complete box with a pack or two added to bring it to 36 packs. In the end, what is offered is a box containing 36 genuine, unadulterated factory-issued Fleer wax packs. A fantastic item that has become scarce and exponentially valuable over time.
