After playing five seasons for the Philadelphia Phillies, the Phillies management wanted Rose to return for the 1984 season. After all, when Rose arrived in 1979, he solidified a talented Phillies team, helping them win a World Series Championship in 1980, and a National League pennant in 1983. But the Phillies wanted Rose for a reduced role, something the prideful Rose would not succumb. He then went to Montreal and played 95 games for the Expos, before he was traded back to his hometown team, the Cincinnati Reds. This button down home, white jersey has the Montreal red, white and blue "M" on the left breast, the team name "expos" below. On the other breast is Rose's familiar number "14." All the items are stitched on and made of tackle twill. The reverse has the name "ROSE" in blue stitched tackle twill with the number "14" below. Both the sleeve and side piping is red and blue. On the left inside tail is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag with wash instructions and listed size "44." Attached is a tag with "SET 1 1984" while above is the name tag with "ROSE 84" stitched in script. This jersey is boldly signed TWICE by Rose. The first is signed "Pete Rose" in black sharpie on the front below the expos name. The second is on the reverse to the left of the number "1" and signed boldly in blue sharpie "Pete Rose Hit King #4256." The jersey exhibits excellent game use complete collar stains and various worn areas along the front. LOA from Grey Flannel Collectibles, Inc. and Mile High Card Company. Also, an LOA from PSA/DNA authenticating both signatures.
