The 1973 Topps baseball issue is widely regarded as one of the very last vintage sets challenging enough in high-grade to merit serious consideration from Set Registry enthusiasts. Like most vintage Topps issues, centering is a concern with the popular '73 set as is print and other typical factory missteps like registration and color saturation, etc. The most challenging aspect of the 1973 issue is no doubt its intensely black reverse edges, so much so that many cards from the 1973 set have yet to surface in PSA 10 GEM MINT condition. Offered here is commendable 1973 Topps high-grade set that rates 20% MINT, 45% NM/MT, 30% NM, and 5% EX/MT with 23 PSA graded cards: #370 Stargell PSA 9, #90 B. Robinson and 190 Gibson PSA 8.5, and PSA 8 examples of #1 All Time HR Leaders, 10 Sutton, 31, 67 Strikeout Leaders, 130 Rose, 142 Munson, 170 Killebrew, 175 F. Robinson, 180 Jenkins, 200 B. Williams, 235 Hunter, 255 R. Jackson, 280 Kaline, 300 Carlton, 305 Mays, 330 Carew, 350 Seaver, 380 Bench, 545 Cepeda, and 615 Schmidt RC. Other key cards are #50 Clemente EX/MT, 100 Aaron NM, 160 Palmer NM/MT, 220 Ryan trimmed, 230 Morgan EX/MT, 245 Yastrzemski NM, 320 Lou Brock NM/MT, 400 Perry EX/MT, 410 McCovey NM, and 614 Evans RC NM/MT.
