Here's a sweet duo of memorabilia that takes us back to the Big Red Machine of the 1970s. This lot includes a commemorative Louisville Slugger bat that reads "Cincinnati Reds National League Champions 1972" and is stamped with facsimile signatures or block letter names of team players, including Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan and Tony Perez along with manager Sparky Anderson. The bat is in solid MINT condition. The Reds would eventually fall in the seventh game of the World Series that year, to Charlie Finley's "Swingin' A's" but would return to the Fall Classic in 1975 and 1976, winning the championship both times. The 1976 Reds are memorialized on the second item of this lot: a team-signed ONL (Feeney) ball that displays Pete Rose and Sparky Anderson on the sweet spot. Other signatures include Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, Ken Griffey and Tony Perez. The ball is solid NM condition with signatures ranging from 5-8 in terms of strength.
