With the merger of the AFL and NFL, the new 26-team league offered card collectors the opportunity to track all of their favorite superstars together, helping to make the 1970 Topps football set an instant sensation. Whether you were a fan of an AFC team, NFC team or maybe one in each, there was no more ferrying back and forth from card company to another; it was one-stop shopping all the way. This is a complete and unopened wax box containing 24 packs cards from the 1970 issue of Topps football cards. Originating from the first series (#1-132) it is conceivable that many key cards in the series could be waiting to be unearthed in MINT or even GEM MINT condition, including the highly prized O.J. Simpson rookie card. Other potential treasures from the series include #1 Dawson, 10 Griese, 25 Stenerud RC, 30 Starr, 43 Bethea RC, 59 Page RC, 70 Sayers, 75 Barney RC, 80 Tarkenton, and 114 B. Smith RC. With an all-star cast like that in the first series, this is sure to be an item that rises in demand with time. Authenticated and wrapped by Steve Hart/Baseball Card Exchange (BBCE).
