Contrary to common belief, the gray borders of 1970 Topps baseball cards are just as susceptible to chipping as the black-bordered 1971 set. Moreover, the massive size of the '70 release, increased in number from the previous year to a whopping 720 subjects, is enough to scare many a collector away from the challenge of assembling a complete set, making this offering very impressive.
